Who doesn’t love listening about the Titanic?

I don’t know if it’s just me, but I am fascinated by the Titanic. April 15, 1912 the beautiful ship was lost at sea forever, or so we thought. In July of 1985, Dr. Robert Ballard discovered the remains of the Titanic at the bottom of the ocean floor, which opened up a whole new door of facts. Until 1985, they didn’t know the ship broke into two pieces and they were able to find out so much more information about it. Until this day, the Titanic is in foreign waters, which prevents the U.S. from directly trying to save the Titanic without a treaty.

Wondering why I am telling you all this? Well on Monday, April 23 @ 8:00 p.m at the Mary Moody Northern Hall, Dr. Robert Ballard will be speaking at WTAMU as a part of the distinguished lecture series. He will speaking about the famous ship and his discovery. I am more than excited. If you’re on campus why not stop by! And don’t forget that a day after on April 24, President Bill Clinton will be speaking at the First United Bank Center. It is going to be a very eventful week for WT!
