If you have been on Facebook in the past week, I’m sure you’ve seen several distressed, frustrated, angry, “violent” status updates as well as wall posts from fellow WT students about the wicked winter weather and having to walk back and forth to class in the frigid freezing Fahrenheits.

It seems as though the majority of the WT student population (or at least my Facebook Friends) are super not happy about the snow that has sabotaged the campus.

However, there are plenty of ways to turn this sticky sickening situation into a beautiful winter wonderland:

1. Bundle up!! Don’t worry about what everybody else is going to think when you’re wearing 3 jackets, 2 pairs of socks and gloves, and 1 scarf. Trust me, you will be needing your fingers, toes, and ears later on in life. Try to preserve them.

2. If possible, take the shorter way to class instead of taking the “scenic” route.

3. Sing while you walk. Crazy and weird, I know. However, it tends to take your mind of the fact that you are about to get frost bite.

4. Walk at a brisk, yet safe pace. If you walk faster, you will make your trips shorter and hopefully, you won’t be so cold if you’re moving at a faster rate. Plus, you never know when the abdominal snow man will emerge from a bush and try to attack you.

5. Watch out for icy areas on sidewalks and streets. Trust me, it’s super embarrassing to be walking nonchalantly and the next thing you know, you slip on some ice and fall on the ground. However, if you do fall, it’s not the end of the world.

6. Even though you’re super cold and just trying to get from point A to point B as well as thinking super awful thoughts as to why you’re having to walk in this awful weather, try not to look angry. You definitely will frighten the people walking beside you in the sidewalk and street.

Stay warm. 🙂
